About Pumpkinvine Baptist Church
By the grace of God, we are building a church where Jesus Christ is Lord, the Bible is our guide, truth is proclaimed, missions are enacted, love and peace are cherished, and faith and obedience are encouraged as disciples are made, all for the glory of God. At Pumpkinvine Baptist Church, we are committed to providing individuals and families a place to worship and serve the Lord; and to learn more about God’s plan and purpose for your life. It is our desire to reach individuals and families in the area who are looking for a place to learn more about God and who enjoy warm, friendly relationships. We are dedicated to helping all people grow closer to God and to build meaningful, lasting relationships. We invite you and your family to visit with us where you will meet others who will provide encouragement along with opportunities for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship.
Pumpkinvine Baptist Church was constituted April 30, 1843 in Paulding County, Georgia under the name of Moriah. The original church building was constructed of logs, and church records indicate Brother James Roberts was called as the first Pastor in 1845. The church's name was changed to Pumpkinvine Baptist Church in 1849 because of another church in the county named Moriah and the proximity to Pumpkinvine Creek and Pumpkinvine still serves the community as one of the oldest churches in Paulding county.
God made a promise in the Bible that if we seek after Him, we’ll find Him. You are a valued part of God’s creation and His deep desire is to be in a relationship with you. So come and join us as we pursue God together!
Faith
We invite you to come check us out this weekend at one of our worship services. We know that going to a new church can be confusing and intimidating, so we try to do things in a way where you’ll feel welcome and not like an outsider. When you come, you can participate or just sit back and observe.
Family
At Pumpkinvine Baptist Church we value the family and we believe church should be a place for people of all ages. Every Sunday we provide children's ministries alongside our regular services, which provides a age-appropriate environment for kids to encounter Christ.
Leadership
Pumpkinvine Baptist Church is guided by a leadership team who provide overall direction and watch over the spiritual needs of the church. Our pastors provide sound, practical, biblical teaching at each worship service. They have received theological and pastoral training and are equipped to share God's love with our local community. Pumpkinvine Baptist Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will.
Pumpkinvine Baptist Church Covenant
In the presence of God and our church family, we declare that: We believe in the authority of the Bible, God's holy Word. We have received the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and have declared our belief through baptism. We believe that we have been called of the Holy Spirit to be members of this body of believers. We will seek to do our best to promote unity, loving each other as Christ loves us, as one body in Christ. We will seek to do our best to love God; seek to understand God, apply God's teaching to our lives, and to serve God. We will seek to come together in worship, Bible study, and discipleship in order to meet God's expectations in our lives. We will seek to respond to God's calling for us to serve Him through our church ministries. We will seek to contribute cheerfully and regularly for the support of the church ministry and the spreading of the gospel to every person through opportunities God provides. We will seek to protect our biblical witness in Christ as we live, work, and are a part of our communities. We will also seek, should we leave membership of this body of believers, to as soon as possible unite with another church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant
