      We spent four weeks on the Servant Songs, or the mission of The Servant.  The Gospels speak of the mission being accomplished by The Servant through His crucifixion and His resurrection.  Now at the end of the fourth Gospel the central focus is on Jesus as Lord.  It begins in John 21 and continues in Acts going through the end of Revelation.   Lordship is the Bible’s full teaching about Jesus.

The Great Correction:  21:1-11

 Jeremiah 15:19 – Therefore, thus says the Lord, “If you return, then I will restore you— before Me you will stand; and if you extract the precious from the  worthless, you will become My spokesman. They for their part may turn to you,
 But as for you, you must not turn to them.

 John 6:63 – It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.

 Psalm 121:1 – I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; from where shall my help come?

The Great Invitation:  21:12-14

 Philippians 4:19 – And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

 Psalm 34:8a – O taste and see that the Lord is good;

The Great Restoration:  21:15-19

 Matthew 26:74-75 – Then he began to curse and swear, “I do not know the man!” And immediately a rooster crowed. 75 And Peter remembered the word which Jesus had said, “Before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.

 Matthew 26:33-35 – But Peter said to Him, “Even though all may fall away because of You, I will never fall away.” 34 Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you that this very night, before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” 35 Peter *said to Him, “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You.” All the disciples said the same thing too.

Christ Confronts Peter

 Matthew 16:18 – I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
